Sarah is a music educator and multi-instrumentalist with 15 years of experience performing across Jazz and Afro-Latin genres. Holding a BA in Jazz Composition, Performance, and Afro-Latin Styles alongside a PGCE in Music, she performs extensively on flute and congas with numerous ensembles. Initially self-taught, Sarah advanced her study under distinguished flutists Eddie Parker (Loose Tubes) and Neil Metcalfe. She initially studied congas under Pato Fuentes, Co founder and musical director of The London School of Samba and Robin Jones musical director of The Latin Underground and King Salsa. She balances an active career as a featured ensemble artist with her work as a dedicated music educator.

Sarah started playing the drum kit from and early age. Her father, who was a session drummer, taught her how to read music and play rhythms. Her love for Afro Latin music was awakened when he took her to a Latin percussion workshop run by renowned Californian/Puertorican percussionist John Santos. Her father purchased for her a cassette called 'Manana Para Los Ninos' by Orquesta Batachanga.
During her late teens she studied drum kit with Paul Clarvis and went on to do a World and Popular music course at Hackney Community College where she studied congas with Chilean percussionist Pato Fuentes and drums with American Jazz drummer Cliffard Jarvis. She went on to study Jazz performance, composition and Afro Latin styles at Middlesex University.
